18K White Gold  Diamond  & Sapphire Art Deco Filigree Ring

This beautiful Art Deco 18k white gold diamond ring is wonderfully unique. It was created using an 18K white gold setting with one center round diamond highlighted by by two Arrowhead Sapphires.

In the Art Deco period popular motifs made use of geometric and abstract designs and a dramatic interplay of shimmery colors. Emeralds, sapphires and diamonds were widely used as embellishments.

Diamonds have been coveted and used to embellish jewelry and accessories throughout the ages; the Greeks wore them into battle believing them to symbolize "inconquerability". Diamonds are the birthstone of April and are given to commemorate 10^th, 30^th, and 60^th anniversaries. They symbolize innocence.

Filigree looks lacy and delicate but the pieces were die-struck with such force that it caused the metal to become denser and stronger.
