Waltham Pocket Watch # 15-478
This beautiful 14k yellow gold pocket watch with movement by Waltham was produced around 1900 during the late Victorian and Edwardian Eras (1885-1910). During that period, clothing became lighter and softer. Jewelry also became lighter in scale often using flowers as motifs. A variety of sporting activities, especially bicycling, was popular and women were being seen in the workplace in greater numbers. Wearing understated jewelry was in vogue and the embellishments were also small and discreet.
This pocket watch includes a hunting case (closes on both sides) and is adorned with hand carvings on both sides. The maker’s inscription reads: Waltham 14K 235303
The movement is inscribed with: Waltham Am. Watch Co. 358-4601
An inscription on the back inside cover reads: G.E.M. To H.V.S. Xmas ‘90
