14K Gold Victorian Ruby Ring # 11-344
This beautiful 14k yellow gold ruby ring was produced during the Mid-Victorian period (1860-1885) as jewelry and clothing was transitioning from modesty to opulence. Previously, women wore very little jewelry but the trend was toward heavy, massive and solid jewelry that was worn at all times for all occasions.
This ring has just a hint of boldness in the ruby color and unique setting. The design of the 14k yellow gold band retains just a hint of femininity with its delicately carved setting. While it appears to be substantial, it’s really very delicate.
Rubies have a dramatic effect and, to many, are more valued than diamonds. Ruby is the birthstone of July and symbolizes wisdom, wealth, and health.
There is a maker’s/designer’s mark inside the band.
