Art Deco Diamond & Ruby Ring # 11-306

This beautiful 14k yellow gold, diamond and ruby ring was created during the Art Deco Period (1920-1930’s). During that time popular motifs made use of geometric and abstract designs and a dramatic interplay of shimmering colors.  Rubies and diamonds were widely used as embellishments.

There are seven round diamonds and five square rubies set in a unique abstract design using both angular and curved shapes. The 14k yellow gold band fits naturally between one’s fingers.

Diamonds have been coveted and used to embellish jewelry and accessories throughout the ages; the Greeks wore them into battle believing them to symbolize “inconquerability”. Diamonds are the birthstone of April and are given to commemorate 60th anniversaries.  They symbolize innocence.

Rubies have a dramatic effect and, to many, are more valued than diamonds.  Ruby is the birthstone of July and symbolizes wisdom, wealth, and health.
